Willscott (on 2023-01-27): We've talked about the balance between ability to buy-out a leaving owner, and handling potential divergence between 'market value' and 'purchase value'. The thing that seems best for the community in my view would be something along the lines of:
- the house is given the option to buy-back the ownership share at
inflation-adjusted-purchase-price
. - for sales at market value, half of the difference
[market value - inflation-adjusted-purchase-price]/2
goes to the house. - for market sales, house retains 'right of first suggestion' for purchasers. (with some time boxing probably)
