Questions
- any projects that should happen during the dry months?
- should the fireplace be desks?

Near-Term Construction / Projects
bigger:
- foundation/chimney project (!)
- partition wall between bedrooms
- possibly remove bedroom carpet
- fume hood in kitchen
smaller:
- window shades
- replace all external door locks with deadbolt option
- minor gutter fixes
- remove any unused extra external wires (duplicate cable/phone lines)
- reinforce/tighten support cable for main power connection
- adding bike hooks in the garage might be a short term project to consider
Move In Tasks
- get movers for bigger items?
accounts:
- security system: get account switched
- utilities switched over
- "right*size" trash/compost bins and subscription
maintenance:
- garage door: fix sensor, change code, get "clickers"
- might even want bike "clickers", or some phone system
- sensor/security if garage door has been left open?
- irrigation system de*winterized and running
- mosquito control / cleaning of oblesk water pool
- check and set thermostat; replace if needed
House Infra
networking:
- fiber ISP?
- network panels in workshop room
- maybe small/quite servers in workshop room? not too loud or hot
- some ethernet has been run already, should check where
- existing router, multiple wifi access points
sensors:
- full*house electicial power, water
- could be privacy concerns with granular data
consistent/integrated power and lighting control? doesn't seem urgent
house has no A/C. maybe we should get a cheap/used window unit that we can pull out for hot summer days if needed?
Front Porch
a comfy chair or two? the hanging chairs at current house are nice
Foyer
- coat hangers
- shoe storage
- bench for changing shoes (existing)
- will need to figure out fireplace situation
Main Floor Rooms
- additional bookshelves
Kitchen
the kitchen area doesn't have much counter space, and most storage is "closed" (behind doors). I think we'll want to expand out in to the open room/area nearest the kitchen.
maybe a low "kitchen table" to sit at.
bar:
- solid wall shelving for liquor (existing shelving isn't very good)
- storage for glasswear
- maybe a small secondary fridge for vermouth, simple syrup, etc?
- working area for making drinks: citrus, shaker, jiggers
coffee/tea:
- table/area for espresso machine, grinder
- storage for tea, cups, brewing
storage:
- open shelves for additional glass jars, spices, clear containers?
- larger equipment like pacojet, mixer, frier, coffee roaster
- daily cups, plates, bowls, etc: are the big cabinets good for this?
Vibes
books+plants seems like a baseline.
Basement
"bedroom":
- maybe bold painting to make this a friendlier space?
- paint the ductworks bright primary colors
- murals/shapes on walls
- good lighting (color*control?)
- could have a small folding desk?
- monitor/tv?
- put the current basement bed in this room
large open room:
- could be a movie room (darker than other rooms)
- could put standing desk just under window at back wall (the one we have near front door at 908 15th)
- large storage shelves
- outdoor gear storage
- chest freezer? paco freezer?
- shoe storage
- wet shoes, then white carpet, even if just taking shoes off, hrm. replace/remove carpet, or put down some covering?
"abyss" nook (bare concrete):
- put down some non*rusting metal riser on floor (damp)
- bulk food storage, like cans?
- fermentation?
workshop room:
- tool storage, some work space
- better lighting
- stool or two
- electronics, microscope?
- ventilation for soldering (there is a window, could run a vent)
Fun
- awesome sound setup that can shake the whole house
* (probably makes the most sense in the living room)
- projector/screen in living room
- sparkling water tap
- display in main area showing light link schedule ("next train")
- way to connect pizza oven to the outside gas line
- lighting on back deck
- barrel sauna / hot tub?
