- Those two trees are regarded as one of the oldest and best sakura trees in Japan:
- Neodani Usuzumi Sakura: in Gifu.
- Yamataka-Jindai Sakura: in Yamanashi; a bit out of the way but doable. Lots of onsen in a nearby town.
