Acetarium/Thanksgiving 2010

Timing

Vague plan is to start cooking around 4PM, and be done around 7 or 8pm, with drinking and essential snacking interspersed throughout the day.

Dishes and other stuff you'll be bringing

• Tofurky Feast, two Quorn Turk'y Roasts, one Tofurky Roast (Mika/Mad/Cjb)
• Tofurducken (Mika/Maalox)
• Meat pie (maybe Mika)
• Cranberry sauce (Maalox)
• Brussels Sprout (Maalox)
• Salad (Daf/Christine, Acetarium has stuff for salad too)
• Apple & fakin bacon stuffed squash?
• Carrot something (Mako+Mika) -- maybe mashed carrots
• Sweet potatoes and apples (Mika/Maalox)
• Stuffing (Maalox)
• Mashed potatoes (Mad/Chris)
• Acorn squash (Mad/Chris) -- halved, roasted w/ brown sugar & margarine
• Blood of gentiles (Everyone but SJ will contribute)
• GroovyGravy (Maalox will create)
• Bread (baggets for garlic bread, rolls, etc.) (Acetarium)

Desert (all from the Acetarium):

• Pumpkin pies (x15) (you get one as a party favor)
• Apple/cranberry pie
• Fruit cake
• Chocolate cake
• Flourless chocolate cake
• Pumpkin tart
• Giant choco-peppermint cupcakes

Drinks:

• Wild Turkey (Acetarium. Because it's not Thanksgiving without Turkey.)
• Growler of Steel Rail, six-pack of Harpoon Chocolate Stout (cjb)

Things to buy/bring

REMEMBER REMEMBER: Nothing is open on Thanksgiving. Like nothing. That means everything needs to purchased before businesses close on Wednesday. and Some of them close early. (Of note, Farmer's Bounty was open last year until 3PM or so on Thurs, pretending not to know the law.)

Remove this stuff if people pick it up or commit to bringing it:

• 5 apples (Mika)
• 5-6 yams yams yams (Mika/Mad)
• Pies (we will probably dumpster a bunch) DO NOT BUY MORE PIES
• dinner ROFLS (Bernie)

• DRINKS:
  • Wild Turkey (1 Handle) (Mako)
  • Beer (Mad/Chris)
• Eggs of endangered species (e.g., great auks, blue footed boobies, chicken) (mad has a dozen, let her know if you actually need them?)
