Without a doubt one of the most interesting tciops you can cover is The Semantic Web . In terms of something that's topical and forward looking, you can't get much more spot on than this.For a good introduction to the subject you might enjoy watching Sir Tim Berners-Lee discussing it in the context of the future of the web (more description in [1]).And for technical background the W3C has a lot of detail [2].There's also a fairly broad description on Wikipedia [3], but it's worth watching TimBL's lecture first.Good luck with the preso, whatever topic you choose.
