Ohana (お花 or "flowers") mi (見 or "look at") is a traditional festival in Japan to celebrate the arrival of spring. There is traditionally lots of eating, drinking, and chatting done under the beautiful cherry blossom trees.

This is our 10th Ohanami Festival in Cambridge. Hope to see you all there!

When: May 3rd starting around one
Where: At the cherry blossom grove in front of Walker Memorial and Wood Sailing Pavilion along the Charles river near MIT. If we move to a location with more blossoms, we'll update this page.
Who: You! Feel free to bring family and friends!

If you would like to and are able to help mollydb make sangria on Saturday, that would be amazing.

What Should I Bring?[edit]

Ohanami 2007-02.jpg
    • Please bring a cup for your own use! We will not be bringing any disposable cups.**

Ohanami is basically a picnic so bring things you would bring to a picnic.

The weather looks to be nice all weekend (65F/18C), but it will cool off at night, so plan accordingly! It would be a good idea to bring blankets or tarps to sit on. Also feel free to bring games, musical instruments, delicious things to eat or snack on and drinks to keep you hydrated. We'll be providing drinks as well.

Please bring cups for yourself and maybe a friend.

If you have a car or biketrailer and are interest in helping to transport things, contact mollydb.

Drinks[edit]

In terms of alcohol: Be advised that this is a public place.
