==Restaurant options==
==Restaurant options==

*"Some great food options: The fanciest/best restaurants are Matia and Doe Bay, but we typically get reservations several weeks in advance. Other excellent ones: a) Lascaux has excellent brunch, b) Buck Bay is good for outdoor lunch, fun with kids and pets,  best oysters in WA, ceviche and crab. Lascaux and Buck Bay are about a mile from my place. c) Houlme pizza (excellent pizza), d) Sea Bird some of the best pastries I've had, but open only from 9 to ~10am on Saturdays. Their pastries are like art pieces: https://www.seabirdbakeshop.com/ e) Salvadorean popusas at the Saturday farmers market are good and cheap. f) New Leaf good for lunch and dinner, might require reservation. Reservations required but not as hard as Matia/Doe Bay: 1. Mijitas decent Mexican food. 2) Inn and Ship Bay, fancier dinners, nice views. g) King Fish, west side of the island, great food."
Ordered by distance to our place(s)

* 🍳 Lascaux Cafe has excellent brunch/lunch, and great pastries. Share building with art co-op. 30-min walk https://www.lascauxorcas.com/
* 🦪Buck Bay Shellfish Farm: casual outdoor lunch, fun with kids and pets. Best oysters in WA, ceviche, and crab. Not many veggie options. 30-min walk. https://buckbayshellfishfarm.com/
* 🌊 Doe Bay: expensive, excellent PNW food, cozy location. Reservation is required, but a pain to get through them during tourist season. https://doebay.com/cafe/
* ⚓️ Inn at Ship Bay: fancier dinners, nice views. Probably reservation required. https://www.innatshipbay.com/dining
* 🍕 Houlme pizza: excellent pizza, good vegetarians. Outdoor/indoor seating plus order via SMS at 206 999 1844
* 🎩 Matia: expensive, excellent/unique PNW food, NYT top 50. Reservation required.
* 🥐 Sea-Bird Popup: best pastries I've had, almost art pieces. Opens only on Sat at 9am, runs out of stuff by ~10am. Popup inside Matia in Eastsound. https://www.seabirdbakeshop.com/
* 🇲🇽 Mijitas good Mexican food: https://www.mijitasorcas.com/
* 🌮 Salvadorean pupusas/tacos/tamales at the Saturday farmers market are good and cheap.
* 🍳 New Leaf Cafe: great new restaurant. Have had a good breakfast and dinner https://www.outlookinn.com/newleaf
* 🐟 King Fish, west side of the island (35-min drive), great food, nice views, est 1900's. Reservation required. https://kingfishinn.com/restaurant
* 🌯 Farm to Ferry food truck with decent burritos at the Ferry landing https://www.yelp.com/biz/farm-to-ferry-orcas

* Land:
* "For outdoor activities, there is hiking, sailing, sea/lake kayaking. The ones I haven't tried yet that I'd love to do are: sailing, kayak tour of Sucia (these require  reservation, which I'm happy to do). kayaking in Mountain Lake. Also, activities that I have done several times and enjoy doing again, hike to Mt Constitution, Cascade Lake (swim/kayak), Turtle Back Mountain Hike, Obstruction Pass park, etc."
** 🥾 Hikes
*** Obstruction Pass Park (beautiful beach during high tide). Entrance to park is 30-min walk from our place.
*** Coho preserve, nice short hike next to creek/cascades. The entrance to park is a 40-min walk from our place, right next to Lascaux Cafe and Buck Bay. Fun to go there before or after eating.
*** Mountain Lake to top of Mt Constitution. Beautiful lake views and then amazing views of Mt Baker, Lummi Island, and other islands at the top of the mountain. Best on a non-cloudy day.
*** Walk around Mountain Lake. Fun to see the islands inside the lake. Also would be cool to kayak here. I think they rent kayaks too.
*** Walk around Cascade Lake. Most popular hike, perhaps.
*** Turtle Back Mt, has awesome views of multiple islands on the west side. 30-min drive to trailhead.
** ⛳️ Mini golf https://www.orcasislandminigolf.com/
** 👩‍🌾 Farmers Market on Sat morning https://orcasislandfarmersmarket.org/
** 🚶‍♀️ Walk around Eastsound
** 🪴 Orcas Pottery. Beautiful pottery store https://www.orcasislandpottery.com/
** 🚴‍♀️Bike around West Sound (rent bikes in Eastsound).
** 🚘Drive to the top of Mt Constitution

** 🏠 Sea kayaking from our beach: we have one 2-person kayak and one 1-person kayak, but they are lake kayaks, so not super stable if it's wavey, safest to stay near shore.
** ⛵️Sailing tour:
*** Deer Harbor Sailing is out of commission waiting for a part for their boat https://deerharborcharters.com/pages/day-sailing
*** Left a voice message on Orcas Sailing asking for Sunday morning https://www.orcassailing.com/
** 🛶 Sucia Island kayak tour https://www.outerislandx.com/kayaking
** 🚣‍♀️ Kayaking in Mountain Lake to check out inside islands. I believe they rent kayaks at Cascade Lake and take them over there.

* 🏠 Home
* "a potential fun activity with kids is minigolf, we haven't been but we've heard good things"
** Cornhole
** Bocce
** Board games (Codenames, UpWords, Ticket to Ride)
** Gardening: help us pick some lettuce and radishes from our garden
