Just five months after starting the season with  title aspirations and a new star in former MVP Russell Westbrook,  and the  Lakers have now been eliminated from playoff contention following their seventh consecutive loss on Tuesday night.<br>Playing without the injured James, who has been battling ankle problems, the Lakers fell to the Phoenix Suns, 121-110, dropping them to 11th place with a miserable 31-48 record on the year.
