Yes, I have used it on my PS3. I never use the PSN or game online so I coludn't care less. Besides, the use of PSN requires you to update anyway so the chance of being banned is zero if you don't upgrade (you must not upgrade if you want a hacked console).I'm really not the one to ask, you'd better off asking someone more knowledgeable.
